Well the much anticipated clash between board members eventuated in NZ with SA taking on the struggeling ND, although there was hope for the Kiwis as they were the only team(other than Worcs forfeit win) to beat SA in the league this season.....
ND were sent in by SA captain Darren Lehmann and got off to a steady start before Dizzy Gillespie took the wicket of H.Marshall for 15...
The loss of that wicket signalled a fall for the ND team as they consistently lost wickets with only 4 more players reaching double figures...
Parlane, J.Marshall and Bradburn all fought well for their 30's but it was all in vein as ND were eventually dismissed for 171 in the 45th over....
For the visitors, great signs as all bowlers except Haritty keeping it tight, yet Haritty still took 2 wickets...
SA New the job was only half done and that the ND bowling attack had dismantled alot of batting attacks earlier in the season, so they were on gaurd...
Things looked shaky as Fitzy fell for 2, but the experience of Blewett and the agressive nature of Miller arrested the accendancy from the ND hands and put SA into a position to really drill the nail into the coffin...
SA cruising at 1/93 looked all set to rap the game up comfortably but a couple of quick wickets including Blewy, Miller and Boof had SA reeling at 4/109 but another fight from Ryan Harris and then Adcock and Deitz fought off the ND fightback and drove SA to a relatively comfortable win...
For the home team Yovich took 2 wickets but was expensive whilst Vettori showed signs of form with 1/25 from his 7 overs...
The Man of the Match for his 3/28 and his 56 was Michael Miller....
ND are on a downward slide now after winning their 1st 3 games they have now lost 5 on the trot and are really struggleing to avoid the wooden spoon....
While the SA season goes from strength to strength with them currently on a 4 game winning streak.... Amazingly SA have only lost 2 games all season with 1 of those being a forfeit....
The SA manager was extremely happy with his troops and after the match stated that even though the boys were doing a great job they all new there goal and if it was to be acheived they all had to stay fully focused.....
So back to Adelaide next week for a clash with Glamorgan who have won 3 on the trot now and are looking to get right away from the spoon area....
Should be a cracker.....
