I'm not going to talk about the match as it was a disgrace. Bowlers getting a good old belting, batsman scoring slower than a turtle. It was a gettable score but their bowlers tied are batsman down. I thought that Damien Martyn should have got Man of the Match with his 3-45 and 30* but somehow got pipped by Robin Smith who scored 22. How does that work Blewy :I as Marto is feeling pretty bad about that :D. I just hope Williams and Angel can find their form from the start of the year and feel that with Martyn,Langer and gilchrist in form we can be a threat towards the end of the season. Just like to ask a question blewy, do players have agression settings and if they do are gilchrist and langer on aggressive as I was shocked to see both of them have a S/R close to 50. Anyway thats all for now, Cya.

Tasmania suffered another loss this weekend, but was happy with their effort.

After batting first they yet again failed in the top order. With Cox and Ponting getting ducks. Cox will now be dropped after getting yet another duck. DiVenuto and Wright combined for another good partnership but Tasmania did not have anyone else stand up and ended up 8-267, with Wright stranded on 99* off 103.

Tassie thought they had a chance when Ramesh fell early and Tamil Nadu were 1-8. But Sharath and Madanagopal combined for an 172 run second wicket which sunk the Tassie team.

Wright was declared man of the match after his unlucky 99 and 4-42(10). Tassie in the end defeated by 4 wickets.

Manager Reuben of Hampshire shook hands with Steve Waugh the Gun manager
of Western Australia Before the match started. S.Waugh had a sly grin on
his face since his team was facing the lowest team in the competition.
Reuben kept his cool , but felt a loss on his way for his team coming .
He saw W.A's team on Paper , it looked a lot stronger compared to Hampshire.
The toss was won by Hampshire and they decided to bat, Reuben change the
batting order of Hampshire suprising W.A's manager. He noticed the weakness
and strategised appropriately. Opener R.Smith and Kenway had a partnership
of 22 before R.smith was caugh of the bowling of K.Harvey. A Frustrated
Hampshire could be seen standing in the box seat. Wickets Fell at regular
intervals. But the batsmen contributed little scores to the growing
scoreboard. Finally the managers changed batting order worked with
Hamblin scoring 47(55) and Johnson scoring 31(41). The Final score read
231-8, not a satisfying total said the Hamphsires Manager in the break.
Western Australias Manager on the other hand commented , " I dont think
this will be a hard target to defend , maybe my lineup can talk for itself "
Australia's Bliztkreig Gilchrist, had a bad day , scoring 66(124) a painful
slow innings. His partner on the crease J.Langer didnt help much either
scoring 44(81). Things were going Hampshires way now with the overs to go
reducing and the run rate required increasing. The best figures were for
Hampshire were N.Johnson 7-2-16-0 and C.Tremlett 10-3-20-1. Hampshire won
by 43 runs. Man of the match was awarded to Smith. An interview with the
happy Hampshire Manager after the match " I cant contain myself, the team
played really well together, they havent lost hope after losing 5 games, we
are going to be a new change a new Hampshire from now on" From W.Australias
Manager " Oh mate! i reckon they deserved to win aye , they played good all
round cricket. Our boys are a bit tired after all the tough games. We still
Going to prove we can do our stuff."

lancashire batted first in a close contendered game. nsw struggling but taking the 2 point with a 4 wicket victory at the scg on sat. we caught up with bugz malone after the match.
st(sports tonight):
bugz not the most convincing win

coach: no it wasnt mate but 2 points is 2 points. our test is next round where i think we play the comp leaders in qld, but take nutting away from lancashire, they put up agood fight and @ 1 early stage we where in a little trouble.

i thought we won it in our bowling effort today. mcgrath and co really did bowl well and they are starting to hit solid form. 6 overs 1 maiden 2 - 29 was very good, beating the bat on numerous occasions. well backed up by b lee 7 overs 5 maidens 0 - 12 and higgs also bowled well with 9 overs 4 maidens 1 - 21. macgill , s lee and s waugh also taking some wickets. its let us down of late the bowling at i was happy to roll lancashire for 148.

st: only chasing a small total u guys did it tuff early

coach: yer mate we lost the inform m waugh early for 1 and it was corey richards yet again who led the way with his magnificent 72 (93). he and hadding put on a good partnership , but then we lost our ways when bevan went cheaply. s waugh was looking good but some good fielding stopped his run chase and he was gobe for 17 (17).klee and higgs went quickly but richards the real leader today. thankgod it wasnt a bigger score.

st: so ca cup 1/4 final next week against nd, how u guys looking

coach: yer look we will just have a light swim session 2morrow and back into it monday for the big game. its a good chance for a few boys to really excel in the 20 over comp. should be a good game.

st: thanks mate all the best next week

coach: thanks tim

st: well that was bugz malone nsw blues coach who sit pretty in the league in 2nd position and this week with there 1/4 final looking good for nsw cricket at the moment .

It's all going horribly wrong for Warwickshire, another bad defeat, and relegation is looming

Mumbai crashed 338-5 off their 50 overs, only young Troughton impressing with 2-38 off his 10 overs.

It was always going to be too many for the weak Bears line up, although Knight and Smith started well, Smith relishing his new opening role, and late on Wagh and Spires scored useful runs.

The return from injury of Giles and Penney will hopefully boost the team.

South Australia v Kent @ Adelaide

Australian Internationals Sparkle In 86 Run Win Over Kent

Well after much hype from both the managers, the game didn’t disappoint with 582 runs scored in just 88 Overs.

Kent arrived in sunny Australia with very high expectations for the match, after a bright start to the season and knowing a win could possibly take them to the top of the league if other results went their way.

South Australia won the toss and decided to bat on a nice looking pitch that was unlikely to offer much assistance to the bowlers.

Kent were hoping for an early wicket and M.Saggers did just that removing the opener of D.Fitzgerald for 6. Kent then were made to pay for some poor bowling after the wicket, and it was only when the wicket of M.Miller went for a well built 49 at just over a run a ball. Kent then couldn’t capitalize on the breakthrough and South Australia and Australian international D.Lehmann in particularly began to punish the Kent attack in a scintillating knock of 154* from only 101 balls. Meanwhile G.Blewett was making a rather subdued knock of 56 (83) mainly because he was playing second fiddle to D.Lehmann, before he was clean bowled by M.McCague with the score on 175/3. Things already looked ominous to Kent and they knew that they would be chasing a very big total if they didn’t buck their ideas up and bowl better and quickly. R.Harris 18 (22) then added a further 52 to the score with Lehmann, Harris adding just 18 of the partnership before he was caught behind off the spinner of M.Patel. C.Davies was next to the middle and was yet another batsman who scored his runs at more than a run a ball, scoring 20 (19) before he gave P.Nixon his third catch behind of the innings, this time of the bowling of M.Fleming. S.Deitz and Lehmann then saw the home side to the end of the 50 overs, with a colossal 334/5 on the board. This is the second time Kent have been required to chase over 330 this season (you think I would get the hint to strengthen my bowling).

The star of the South Australian side was unquestionably D.Lehmann who score 154* of just 101 balls.

The bowling was wayward and undisciplined and only M.McCague 10 - 2 – 42 – 1 and M.Fleming 10 – 2 – 42 – 1 showed any sign of some respectable figures. However it was good to see that all the bowlers got in on the action and each bowler finished with a wicket each.

In reply Kent required a mammoth 335 at 6.7 an over from the start.

Kent’s reply got off to the worse possible start when the pinch hitter M.Fleming was removed for just 4, by P.Wilson in the first over of the Kent reply. Kent were needing a big innings from somebody if they were going to even get close to the target, however it wasn't going to be the inform R.Key as he was clean bowled by M.Harrity for just 17. However this dismissal seemed to spark Kent into life and B.Lara and J.Hockley attacked with everything they had, and obliterated the SA bowling attack in an onslaught that had every Kent fan hoping that after all this could be their day. However hopes were dashed when B.Lara departed for an exhilarating 56 from just 35 balls, looking set to beat the fastest 100 if he stayed at the crease. All the hope now lay on the young shoulders of J.Hockley, however the presser got to the youngster and a rash shot bought his demise for a well-constructed 68 from 55 balls. Kent now had two new batsman at the centre and the writing was soon being written on the wall when M.Walker failed only adding 3 (3) to the score. Again Kent were determined to at least go down fighting M.Ealham felt attacking was the best way to go and was unfortunate to be dismissed for 32 (22) when the ball didn’t seem to carry to the fielder. Meanwhile the Kent wicketkeeper was keeping the scoring going at the other end scoring a respectable 29 (28) before becoming the fourth M.Harrity victim. D.Fulton was joined at the middle by the Kent spinner M.Patel. the pair both scored runs but just couldn’t keep up with the rising rate that was required before D.Fulton was dismissed for 19 and M.Patel for just 12. M.McCague 0 (1) and M.Saggers 0 (4) came to the middle knowing that any chance of winning was gone, and they were plying to improve their own averages, however after just two extras M.McCague was the last man out.

South Australia bowling was a good example of how to contain the runs and some super displays from M.Harrity 8 - 3 - 43 – 4 and P.McIntyre 5 – 1 – 21 – 2 were the main stars of the bowling department.

A very disappointing display by the bowlers ment that the Kent batsman had no other alternative but to attack which lead to their demise.

One intresting fact was the number of maidens bowled = 12, by both teams, yet the scoring wouldn’t seem to represent this.

Kent manager Rich2001 was very disappointed by the result and is looking for some revenge in the Marc Cup later this week, yet was still happy enough to take SA manager G.Blewett for a congratulation drink after the game.

Summary

SA – 334/5 - D.Lehmann 154*, G.Blewett 56
M.McCague 10 - 2 – 42 – 1 M.Fleming 10 – 2 – 42 – 1

Kent – 248ao - J.Hockley 68, B.Lara 56
M.Harrity 8 - 3 - 43 – 4 P.McIntyre 5 – 1 – 21 – 2

South Australia won by 86 runs

Unsurprisingly the Man Of The Match award went to D.Lehmann for his 154*

To say that the Glamorgan manager was ecstatic after their first legitimate win of the season would be an understatement. Obviously bourbon was the appropriate spirit to get a good result out of the boys. Now about the match itself.

Northern Districts batted first and were fired out on a fiery pitch for 88. Marshall topscoring with 32. The wickets were shared evenly with Dale taking best figures of 3/21.

Getting the total was never in doubt as Glamorgan only lost 3 wickets. Maynard scored 31 on route to victory.

As expected the boys got hammered and created havoc on the flight back to England. There are some doubts as to whether Air New Zealand will allow some of us on board again but some of the hosties enjoyed it :D :D :D.

LANCASHIRE v NSW.

Lancashire manager GrahamB had targeted this as a must win match if his side was to remain in the hunt for the Div.1 title.

Lancashire batted first, but their strong batting lineup failed to fire, with A.Swann(45) being the only real contributor of note in the disappointing total of 148 all out.
All seven bowlers used by the home side performed well, either taking wickets or keeping things tight.

In reply to Lancashire's modest score, a fine second wicket partnership between B.Haddin(36) and C.Richards(72no) set the home side up for the win. After the second wicket fell at 88, there were some jitters for the home side as wickets fell regularly, but Richards anchored the innings and saw his side through to a 4 wicket victory.
C.Schofield was the pick of the visiting bowlers with 2/27 from 7 overs. A.Flintoff also kept things tight with 1/17 from 5.

This result leaves Lancashire in a three way tie in second place with NSW and Mumbai, four points behind runaway leaders Queensland. Manager GrahamB says that his side are now going to have to beat all three of these opponents in order to have a realistic chance of taking the title.

Queensland vs Yorkshire

Well Yorkshire batted first setting a very good total of 6/251 of there 50 overs a great display of batting from R.Blakey with 87 from 109 balls, with great support from M.Wood smashing 42 from only 47 balls...
The Pick of the Bulls bowlers were S.Muller with 2/67 and J.Hopes 2/49 but there was nothing to praze them about said coach Goff

In reply The Bulls showed why they are on top of the comp with M.Hayden and J.Maher blasting the bowling attack all over the park a partnership of 162, with Hayden makeing 91 of an amazing 87 balls and Maher hitting 91 of 92 balls helped guide the bulls to a very big victory reaching the total in 42overs and only losing 3 wickets
a supberbe performance by the bulls putting them in front by 4 pnts on the table.....
well done boys...... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

As already said by Slats very well Yorkshire went down very unsurprisingly to Queensland

Blakey made a comeback but no one stood up with bowling
This was said by Jason the Manager of Yorkshire after the game:
"It was good that we actually made some runs and it took more than half the innings to get but if we bat then we cant bowl. If we decide we want to feild next week we will be in a bit of trouble"
The manager of Queensland rubbed in the victory with their report "showing why they are on top of the table" and Yorkshire have now shown why they will be religated.

The ca cup next week against some team will be tough and if we win then Jason said "o yes i will dance around big ben nude." then he was asked if he would with Britney Spears as they are rumoured to still be seeing each other he mooned the camera and left
