apparently Sven is going to play Hargreaves at RB and bring Carrick in to midfield and play 4-5-1
seems decent enough, hopefully Neville will be ready for the quarter-finals.

He is. Sending off would have been an interesting twist in an intriguing game. C'mon Mexico, although they might struggle now that Pardo, the main man in midfield, is off.

This may just end up like the Confed Cup. Going to penalties. Hopefully not and Mexico can just nick it here in extra time.

Phenomenally good game. Great start to the knockout phase, and a surprising performance from Mexico. Argentina were all class though, and Riquelme is the player of the tournament so far.

I thought it went pretty flat in the second half but picked up again near the end...

I personally feel that the Mexican goalie could have done better with that Maxi shot.

8-) Taking the ****?
Not at all. He didn't move across and just seemed to dive from where he was standing, it's not like it rocketed in and he didn't have enough time. Granted it wouldn't be an easy save but he could have at the very least got a hand to it IMO.

Marvellous game, tension filled. Watched it with my Argentinean rugby mates and when Maxi scored even I went ape ****, unbelievable strike.
Pretty confident of a fairly comfortable Argentinean win but my friends said from the outset it would be a tight game and that Mexico know Argentina probably better than any other team in the World Cup and they were right. If Mexico just had that je ne sais quoi upfront it could have been so different though Rafael Marquez was immense for Mexico, had both Crespo and Saviola pretty much in his pocket unfortunately Argentina had Tevez and Messi in reserve.

You’re a harsh taskmaster my friend, IMO I doubt any GK in the world would have got anywhere near it.
