He is. Sending off would have been an interesting twist in an intriguing game. C'mon Mexico, although they might struggle now that Pardo, the main man in midfield, is off.

Phenomenally good game. Great start to the knockout phase, and a surprising performance from Mexico. Argentina were all class though, and Riquelme is the player of the tournament so far.

Not at all. He didn't move across and just seemed to dive from where he was standing, it's not like it rocketed in and he didn't have enough time. Granted it wouldn't be an easy save but he could have at the very least got a hand to it IMO.TT Boy said:Taking the ****?

Marvellous game, tension filled. Watched it with my Argentinean rugby mates and when Maxi scored even I went ape ****, unbelievable strike.
Pretty confident of a fairly comfortable Argentinean win but my friends said from the outset it would be a tight game and that Mexico know Argentina probably better than any other team in the World Cup and they were right. If Mexico just had that je ne sais quoi upfront it could have been so different though Rafael Marquez was immense for Mexico, had both Crespo and Saviola pretty much in his pocket unfortunately Argentina had Tevez and Messi in reserve.
