The super reserve days at the end sounds awesome. Three days should do it, where they schedule any match that matters, with some teams like Sri Lanka having double headers. It would be rare to need more than one day with this world cup experiencing a weather anomaly.

5th place is always lucky to an extent but thats pakistans fault for also being terrible at important times. they almost lost to afghanistan for example.

No one who missed out can have any major claims to say they were dudded. Pakistan included. They didn't play well enough to secure their spot. Us, on the other hand, could feel very fortunate at our draw and yes, of course the rain played a notable part. Were we better than Pakistan? Well they beat England, we beat the Windies, they had a rain draw with Sri Lanka, we had one with India. They might've been a slight bit better but they didn't control their own destiny well enough.

Rainy season?

Pakistan, and any team that didn't make the semis can either reflect on their 'bad luck' and not get better, or they can own the fact they didn't play enough good cricket and be stronger for it.

Yep. They could claim to have been better than us. However, we did beat everyone from 6-10, which earns you the same amount of points as beating the teams from 1-5. Just means you're not a dick show when it comes to the semis, but you are there.
