RIP Ferenc Puskas

Langeveldt

Soutie
Been about a week, but RIP, surprised no thread was created..

Does his record suggest he is possibly the greatest striker of all time?

certainly a legend, one of the greatest of all time from all that i've read and heard....didn't know that he'd passed away...

It has been commented on in the English season thread. RIP. & not really an out-and-out striker, despite the goalscoring record!

Probably the lowest profile of all the greats.

To walk into Wembley and embarrass an 'unbeatable' England team threw the British football world into near chaos.

Quite simply for his time he was better than the best and a notch above others with legendary status.

Jungle Jumbo

International Vice-Captain
Awesome player. Had Hungary not inexplicably lost the final against West Germany in Bern in 1954, he would be immortalised alongside Pele and Maradona. He certainly sits with those two names as my three all-time greats.

PY

International Coach
I've said his record elsewhere exactly but to score over 500 goals in 580ish games is insane in Spain.

RIP, one of the top five footballers ever IMO.
