hey why is everyone picking on nsw. its not like i have not agreed with u guys, i think marcs idea is good but andom is also good.

as for my youthful side, thats the side i picked and its winning so excuse me.

i couldnt care less about when players retire, sooner or later its going to happen to each and every one of us

When creating the model last night, it has occured to me that perhaps people will retire a bit late under that one - do people think that maybe we tweak the percentages up a little at the lower end or is it generally OK?

By the way the chances of someone getting to each age are:

31 - 99.25%
32 - 98.26%
33 - 95.8%
34 - 91.01%
35 - 81.91%
36 - 65.53%
37 - 42.59%
38 - 21.30% (Approx 2 in every 9)
39 - 5.32% (approx 1 in every 19)
40 - 0.26% (approx 1 in every 376)
41 - 0.013% (approx 1 in every 7513)
42 - 0.00066% (approx 1 in every 150257)

What's the view on that?

i think to go with marc's idea there should be something set.
I think any player 36+ that is not kept or traded at the end of a season should then retire.
Cause when you think about it in real life if i was a 36 year old player at the end of my career i wouldnt want to be going off to a new club for example just like that.
Im not picking on ya bugs but...............
eg if NSW's G. Kirsten(37 years old) is kept by bugs at the end of the season and is not a random retirement, he will keep going next season.
if bugs trades him to auckland for example and auckland keep him and he isnt a random retirement he will play next season.
But if bugs releases him into the draft he will retire cause he is too old.

Looks a very good addition to me Si - would add a touch of realism, maybe a bit lower age than 36 though?

I like the idea.... Just looked at marcs Program and it looks great, just a few tweaking of the ages and we are set i think.....

We aren't picking on you or your managment of the side, just using your team as a example, being it's one of the sides with alot more older players (if Kent avg age was old then iam sure others would use Kent as the example), you were lucky at the start to have such a fantastic squad that you only really needed to add a player here and there, whereas other teams that had a generally older squad just replaced most of it in one go.

Sorry if I (or anyone) has offended you, but it seems silly to argue a point that in 5 seasons time we could be in a position where lots of players will be possibly retiring in a heap as they are all now 35+. Whereas we have managers like yourself would could be in that situation this season.

Just let me know how you want to tweak it and I'll be ready to do the retirements when it comes to it?

I guess that you did not write in the correct area...

The place where the word Name Age appear a second time is where the first player is to go!
