Ponting's performance in India is just poor. Played reasonable amount of tests there and averaged 26, where in the same matches Indian batters performance had been up to the mark. Other than that, his stats overall are pretty good.
Ashwin lacks fifer in SENA. Among his 5 centuries, 2 of his away 100's are in WI against a fairly weak side.

So, Ponting it may be.
