significantly better IMO, esp. coz the dialogues were by Visu, who was a drama writer and an excellent screenplay and dialogues guy. Also coz Rajinikant brought a different dimension to the dupe character.

Haven't seen it, but I really like the original one, especially the performance of Utpal Dutt; what an actor he was!
