Whatever it takes!!!
Tendulkar was test standard in his teens
He oozed talent
TBF, so was Lara. His initiation was just delayed due to the ATG Windies side.

Agreed that he’s crazy talented if talent just means hand eye coordinationSehwag had Smith tier hand-eye coordination but just didn't develope the technique to counteract pace bowling
The thread is on raw talent. Tendulkar has the best technique in the game which is accepted by all.Despite being the most accomplished batsman and with an almost perfect record, I am surprised Sachin is not rated as the highest or even Top 3.
Tendulkar was super talented but I would say in his career his achievements were mainly due to temperament, being well mature ahead of his years.Tendulkar was test standard in his teens

When you're a 16 year old playing against adults you can't overcome the difference in physical development through temperament. Succeeding at a young age is the most obvious indication of pure innate talent.Tendulkar was super talented but I would say in his career his achievements were mainly due to temperament, being well mature ahead of his years.
Shouldn’t play sports while you’re oozing.Tendulkar was test standard in his teens

I agree but think about him peaking in his early 20s and dealing with all that extra fandom without losing your balance. Takes extraordinary mature temperament to stay focused. When you're a 16 year old playing against adults you can't overcome the difference in physical development through temperament. iirc you can have both talent and a mature temperament. They aren’t mutually exclusive.I agree but think about him peaking in his early 20s and dealing with all that extra fandom without losing your balance. Takes extraordinary mature temperament to stay focused.
I know but I am marking his success more to the latter.iirc you can have both talent and a mature temperament. They aren’t mutually exclusive.
I agree with that. Sehwag just stuck to what worked in a sense but his physical gifts of timing, reflexes and power very few hadSehwag had Smith tier hand-eye coordination but just didn't develope the technique to counteract pace bowling
always thought he could've been that era's Viv if he knew how to play pace, alas thoughI agree with that. Sehwag just stuck to what worked in a sense but his physical gifts of timing, reflexes and power very few had
He was also a tall bloke, which was unusual for a top bat, and had a creative genius behind his strokeplay.said it on here before but i still think KPs ceiling was as high as anyone i've ever watched.
2012 he scored three other worldly centuries, better than any you will see from many guys who had better careers than him.
186 v India
151 v sri lanka
and that absurd 149 v south africa at headingley where he played morkel and steyn with breathtaking disdain
had too many technical chinks and a lack of bloody minded consistency to be a true great but at his best he was anyones peer.
Dont think babar is more talented then kohli. Both are equal in talent but kohli is miles ahead when it comes to hard work example kohli was not power hitter when he first emerged but now can hit sixes with like abd or Gayle. Babar even now doesn't have 5th gearI also rate KP super high on talent. He has a creativity to his batting that is unique.
Actually think Babar in terms of talent was a smidge ahead of Kohli but lacks his sheer determination.
