Inzi very, very unlikey IMO

EDIT: Take out Trumper and you put in Inzi at 25 and push everyone up one you have a near perfect list IMO

Good list, especially with Trumper in. Grace's exclusion leaves me with nothing to say to any of you at this time of night and this level of intoxication...

Excellent list..

...maybe move Trumper to 25th, or better yet replace him with Neil Harvey

Can we go to 30 so that 5 of the following can get in Harvey, Worrell, Walters, Zareer Abbas, Lloyd, Gilchrist, Flower, Boon, I Chappell & Grace?

Maybe sometime we could do a "Ranking the Legends" thread. It's impossible to judge the merits of some players from a bygone age in terms of batting or bowling ability, but someone like WG Grace could even beat the Don himself in terms of legendary status as he is often considered the most influencial man in cricket history.

Yeah, that would be good. By all means, Grace wasn't anywhere near being the most talented player ever, but as far as aura and status goes, he really has to be up there. Nice idea Lillian.

Don't think Dudley Nouse should be up there with the all time greatest, he was great but not all that compared to some of the other players. The same goes to Mathew Hayden a great player just not Quite up there. :)

Seriously mate, you should read up on the thread before making random comments. Don't intend to be rude but you're wasting your valuable opinion this way. :)

Sorry there but you did ask to help you shorten the list and to me there are so many other players on the list that arebetter than what they are. But okay I'll have a closer look next time :surrender

I think that Barry Richards should have been higher up than he was, a much better player than someone like Barrington.

Four tests does not a good batsman make. Otherwise, as I said, Vijay Merchant > Barry Richards.

Many people that have seen Barry Richards say he is one of the most talented stroke-makers of all time, you don't need to play any tests to prove that.

Yes and no, what did you think of Mike Hussey before he played a Test. Would you rate him as high on the back of just his FC record.

Fair point, but Hussey has improved since I saw him play in CC, 2004, the Test cricket has made him a better player. Who knows what it would have made Richards?
