Cheers. I think some would have, mores o if he'd done better in India though. Tendulkar has a better-rounded record overall, but if Ponting had retired averaging 60 odd at that point, it may well have offset that line of thought too,
Was arguably because Sachin had declined at that point too - around 2006. Just a few years before Sachin himself had hit nearly a 60 cumulative average.

I think even if Ponting had retired early with a cumulate ~55-58 average, he wouldn't have been ranked ahead of Sachin.

Nobody here rates Ponting > Sachin

If he retired after 107 tests with an average of 60, all of CW would. These are facts people
No because Ponting in his prime was still a major HTB.
