Viv was ahead of his time and Sachin succeeded across eras.Kohli above Sachin only because the latter’s century conversion rate even after keeping the era in check is amazing, his chasing record, and the fact he played decently well in both finals(whereas Sachin failed in both). Sachin has the arguement of be a more destructive bat in his 90s peak as a big advantage, but he was also more of a HTB then, whereas Kohli has always had a well rounded record
Kohli’s century conversion rate and his chasing record are unmatched though(AB close in the second regard). Plus Sachin’s failures in both finals can’t be ignored. Kohli also has a 100 in WC SF nowViv was ahead of his time and Sachin succeeded across eras.
Whereas with Kohli we still can't be sure if he was just a product of his era. However it's close between him and Sachin.
Yeah looking again at his record it's hard to begrudge him.And even you rated Kohli ahead at the conclusion of the WC last year
When Sachin and Kohli played together, Sachin was scoring a hundred in every 6 matches, it was worst period in Sachin career and ODIs became more batting friendly since then. Sachin was averaging 50 at 95 SR in that period. So, it is safe to say A young Sachin could have averaged 70 at 100+ SR in 2010s and a Century in every 5 matches.Kohli above Sachin only because the latter’s century conversion rate even after keeping the era in check is amazing, his chasing record, and the fact he played decently well in both finals(whereas Sachin failed in both).
