I think this is possibly because you spend so much time thinking about ATG Country XI matchups where these players would logically be less useful (Ronnie Irani was probably a better county cricketer than Andy Caddick for example, but Caddick was more useful a level above - you'd probably get something similar with Kapil vs Bumrah or something at ATG fantasy level).

I like discussing these things as much as you do, but I try not to let imaginary time travel cricket cloud my opinions as to how good players actually were in Tests.

I commented on that already believe in the other thread. Also, 40s was high scoring but the 50s was hell, especially in England.
