Indirect free kicks in the box are great though.

Yeah and obviously the risk attached to tackling in the box brings its own level of excitement. But there is something irritating about inoccuous fouls being so decisive

Belgium create a few chances with the quality of players they have, but they’re not particularly well organised. They were struggling until boosted by a nonsense penalty.

There's probably a case to make the penalty box narrower, a penalty for a foul at the corner of the box is massively disproportionate.
