PROPOSAL!!!!

International 12th Man
A nice idea, but one I think should not go through..

This way disadvantages those who
a)Don't have MSN
b)Can't get on at the time

Because, if they get their ordered list they aren't going to have the versatility allowed by being online and actively choosing which player goes next..

hmmm..... Thats sorta confusing..
Basically, I can get online, and choose exactly which player I get, however, those who can't, will only get the players from the list they give..

Whats that I hear you say?? They wanted those players??? Yes, this may be true.. however there is one fatal flaw. Say you wanted a Batsman and a bowler.. you would have to put Batsman and bowlers in your list. Now, the problem is, if you get a) two batsman or b) two bowlers, which is possible to happen, you will not have gotten exactly what you wanted.. However if you were online, you would have noticed that either a) you have got your batsman, and another one is coming up, but you'd be able to change to a bowler (or vice versa) or b) that all the batsman you put on your list have gone, but you still require one, so you could choose a new batsman (also vice versa).

If you actually understand what I'm rambling about, you might see how this will be unfair towards those people who cannot be online for the online draft..

This also raises a question about your normal DP's.
Which poses the same problem, that with two you could get one thing you don't want..

The normal solution would be to just do one DP at a time, but this won't work due to some people now having multiple DP's in the same round..

But I'm sure you can all live with this, as everybody gets the same disadvantage..

......
Thanks

Great Points David...

Those issues are a major concern...

At this stage it looks as though the draft would be done as originally planned, Two rounds at a time with each manager submitting a list of players...

The other option is that a manager could submit a couple of lists, 1 with bowlers and 1 with batsman and then a 3rd list stating what type of player he wants...

Eg his main priority could be a bowler so we go off the bowler list and once he has that his next pick he wants a batsman so we could go off his batsman list, this is a little ways of illuding the problem u have brought up and could even be used with the original draft...

Anyway we will see what happens and i will let u all know...

Brilliant way of helping to alleviate that problem :D

I'd say that is probably the best way to go.

I think we could do one round at a time, i could run 1 round every 2nd or 3rd day so that it doesn't drag out...

If everyone would prefer that...

One round every two days would be ideal, but you'd need everybody's cooperation.
Maybe those who miss deadlines automatically be given the top player available from either the batting or bowling list, whichever is best in order to balance their squad.

I think the people that know they can't make it on every couple of days could send in 1 list as originally stated and i could go off that...

Im up for anything

I can give u a list and the top of the list will be the player i want the most and if he is gone ill have the next.
I know thats the way it was gonna be but i like stating the obvious.

on the forum could work BUT what about ther order, everyone would have to log on in order and that could get really messy :undecided:

I think the forum+list thing should work.Ppl who cannot post at the forum could submit their lists.Im not in favour of the list because I havent decided on the type of player I want.I just go for the best player in the draft after my 1 st pick. There are other complications too like some1 being really good in 1 form and crap in the other.I cannot take care of all these small things in the case the list is decided.

Why should the order of posting be a problem. At the begining og the post GB can mention the order of choosing of the dps.
But it might take a bit more of time than the list thing I guess..

The Verdict is that the draft will be held as 1st planned with each team submitting a list of players, i am planning on doing 1 round every 3 days, I will be releasing the Timetable in the next couple of days...

GB, you'll be releasing the full list of players that can be picked on Friday. I will not have access to that list until Monday. If the first round of the draft is going ahead this weekend then I will send my list with academy players only but I will need to know today as I am out of the office for the rest of the week.

Cheers
