Just quietly I think people are underestimating SL here - Murali, Vaas and Malinga is nothing to laugh at. Plus a few quality batsmen make them a very formidable side on their day. If Australia are complacent they may get quite badly stung.

Hmm, I picked a tied series - I cant rationally explain it, just a feeling I have! :D

As for Murali, I dont know - I think he will perform better than some people expect, but I am not sure if he will break the record. I think he will come close, probably by about a wicket or so, but that is about it. But as I said, record or no, I think he will do alright - its just that the Aussies would play him well. Thats all.

Nah, I think he'll get blasted. It'd be great if there wasn't much in the way of racial controversy, though.

Anyway, my predictions: Australia win 1-0 with the other match a rain-effected draw, Murali breaks the record, and JASON complains about umpiring decisions. Ponting will score 200 at some stage, and Sangakkara will have a good time with the bat too.
Agree with pretty much all of this, but I don't think Ponting will score a 200.

I am picking that he will do exceptionally this time around and end up with 12 wickets at least in the 2 tests...not sure about the series ....SL may lose it, if lucky tie it 1-1.

And mark me as the voice of prophecy, but the Aussie fans will cheer him as he goes to 710.......

I will disagree because Jason won't be complaining about Umpiring when two of the best in the business are going to be there ie Steve Bucknor and Aleem Dar...

I could almost guarantee JASON will be complaining, no matter who is officiating.

agreed with people saying Lankas batting could well be their downfall..

there bowling is very strong though.. we have to watchout because if its going to suit quicks, they have some good fast bowlers... but our batsmen should be fine..

Australia 1-0, Murali to pass it. 10 wickets (currently on 700) in two tests should be doable.
