Pre-War Cricket Draft

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
I have been peeking into this thread once in a while, and interesting how good the teams look. I had initially thought there would be very little choice available from pre-war cricketers (though there are a few that I hadn't heard of before. Good to learn about them too).

Was thinking about Bobby Peel for next round, but will take Billy Bates for now. Was on course to be a great when he stopped a full blooded lofted drive with his face, and suffered permanent eye damage. Took 14 wickets and scored a 50 in a single match vs Australia.

Another Billy for me please - Billy Barnes. Sure, he was an alco who missed a test after breaking his hand punching a wall, in an attempt to punch the Australian captain, and sure, in another match he had the ****s with Shrewsbury so refused to bowl at all. But he was a quality allrounder.
