Some pleasing results there. It was no surprise that NSW scored a big total against only 1 of my first choice 4d bowlers. The batting will be a concern I think. I will trying not to get relegated back to Division 2. I think Surrey and us will be fighting that battle.
i think u will be safe Jason, stronger than Lancs and kent too i think...

pretty impressed with some of my OD results esspecially Orton 2 centuries both not out 1 being 158* in his 3 games and Gavaskers 181 not out off just 152 balls on the bowling side of things 5/19 from Khan was excellent too.

3 from 5 is hopefully a sign that Western Province OD cricket is on the mend.

Guys who look to be in good touch are: W Anderson 82 (121), G Shaw 4/9, Samaraweera 113 (86), J Schofield 95 (57), F Funston 108 (117).

A positive start but one that shows a lot more work is still needed if we're going to get promotion this year.

EXTREMELY happy at those results:D 4 from 5 is great with my team especially...

As expected, the batsmen had to heave us home time after time...though bowlers were better then expected...

4 of 5 for Auckland. Most significantly, the bowling looks better than it was at any stage last season.

These results are concerning. A couple of first teamers didn't get many games so I hope that's a good thing. Could be a long season.

Qld 76 all out (W Jones 6-3-8-6, Engineer 6-1-21-3) lost to Karnataka 77/0 (13 ovs, Kale 37*, Kripal Singh 40*)

Apart from that, we seem to have serious problems with economy...Jones and Ali take wickets, but whenever we get down to Liyanage/Engineer there's problems...3 from 5, however, not to be sneezed at!

Guyana will take 5 from 5. What is encouraging from those performances is that we were able to hold on to the close games, something we couldn't do last season. However, I am not looking too much into the performances, as the teams were no where near our First XI line-up and the ground conditions neutral.

In saying that however, we've only lost one game in the trial so we go into the season proper with some needed confidence.

Blewy just wondering why you played all of my OD friendlies with such bad teams? I mean Beasley opening the batting and Greaves and Harkness playing almost every match. I thoghut you were using the first XI's?

How are all these people winning more games than they lose? Are the losers just too ashamed to show themselves?

i thought it was fairly obvious he wasn't, i suppose that makes it better since it will make the season more unpredictable with the pre-season games having little bearing(IMO anyway) on the actual quality of the teams

Here's a 'loser' showing his face. I'm not too concerned though as these preseason games give no indication at all as to how players will perform in the season ahead. A separate file needs to be created and used for the season's competitions proper and these preseason performances will count for zilch. It's just a bit of fun!
