Post War Test Anonymous Listing Comparison thread

@shortpitched713 I am trying to find some time to get these lists to you, as I think these exercises are always more meaningful the more responses you get. A couple of questions:

The bowlers is an "all bowlers" list, right, not just quicks?
Are there any criteria for eligibility you have included - so, for example, are Barry Richards and Mike Procter eligible for the lists despite their lack of Test cricket? Or are we talking only blokes with meaningful Test careers?

Also, is it only test cricket being considered?
Does white ball factor? What about just 1st class as Rice might make my top 15 allrounders?

Forgot about this, will try to complete today.

Why just post war though?
2 reasons:

1. People don't remember or include too many pre war cricketers besides the obvious Bradman/Hobbs, etc. anyway.

2. Those players ending up being picked skew very heavily towards batsmen. This ultimately has the unintended effect of excluding a lot of deserving modern batsmen at their expense.

But to the original question, lots of great batmen pre war that would help make up the list, don't see the point in excluding them
I'd rather posters think of the deserving, more modern batsmen. Think of it as feature, and not a bug.

Also helps compare batsmen and bowlers from similar eras more accurately too. What good is it to say for example, that my number 2 batsmen and bowler are Hobbs and McGrath, respectively?

I don't want to make a definitive ruling on people's personal criteria.

However, explicitly for selection eligibility criteria, the preponderance of these players' careers need to be post World War II, and they must have played Test cricket.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me their lists thus far.

I'd like about 2-3 more submissions though, at this point, for a meaningful enough sample for this exercise. Will @some of the Player Comparison forum regulars in a bit.

Also, feel free to edit your lists, once submitted, until I indicate that I'm ready to tabulate and compile results, in this thread. :)

Give me an hour or so please. At work, but will try to formulate one

The bowlers list can include any type of bowler, just as the batsmen list can include any type of batsmen.

Yeah I haven’t been bothered yet cos I’m lazy.

Is there like a deadline for this so I can procrastinate until like an hour beforehand?
If it helps, I'm just going to stop asking after like 1-2 more people submit lists and just compile the aggregates then, for whatever motivation that is.

And yes, new people are sending me lists every so often, so there's that.

Can’t wait for the list to be used against me in future comparison threads especially with the lower players I kinda placed a bit randomly lol

All right, feel comfortable that I have a minimum submission number of relevance. Please feel free to submit, if you haven't already done so (will finish up this project sometime today most likely), however if you have already submitted please do not make any further edits to your lists.

Thanks everyone, and looking to show you all a final result soon! :)
