But you get where he's coming from right? Its just like a test series for the minnow teams. Not up to the standard of the best but its in the upwards direction.
Where he's coming from is irrelevant to the fact that it's not a test competition. If he's to be a cricket fan, he must learn and respect the traditions and classifications in terminology - especially if he's going to post about cricket on forums.

I disagree, sure he shouldn't disregard those things but hes just supporting his favourite team and shouldn't be criticised for mistaking Test cricket and first class cricket in an international competition that his team is playing in.

He wasn't criticised - he was simply corrected. If one is wrong and not corrected, one is likely to continue being wrong. Hopefully he won't make the same mistake in future now that it has been cleared up.

Ah my mistake, I thought you meant it in a harsher anti-Ireland sentiment which has been quite often directed at this fellow and his friends.

I have nothing against Ireland or Irish people. I think it's great that Ireland has found some support and they have found they way to CW. I was just correcting his mistake.

I would have done so if you hadn't. Good performance by Ireland against Canada though, especially considering they were missing Niall O'Brien and Boyd Rankin.

Haha, one of the most vital statings-of-the-obvious I've ever seen, TBH.

haha. in what way is that vital?? the world is hardly going to stop to excist because stephen made the mistake of thinking it was a test competition, since it was due to be played over 4 days and each was due to bat 2 innings and since stephen and I have only been interested in cricket a short while, its hardly necessary to say it was a vital statement
