With Ambrose, McGrath, Imran and Warne already in the XI, you need an equally legendary bowler to share the bowling honors with them. Here are the options.

Wasim Akram: 99 tests, 394 wkts @ 23.59, SR 54.4, Econ 2.60 (23/4)
Richard Hadlee: 26 tests, 132 wkts @ 21.73, SR 50.0, Econ 2.60 (12/3)
Malcolm Marshall: 41 tests, 188 wkts @ 19.78, SR 46.3, Econ 2.55 (9/2)
Muttiah Muralitharan: 108 tests, 657 Wkts @ 21.96, SR 55.0, Econ 2.39 (56 / 18)
Waqar Younis: 87 tests, 373 wkts @ 23.56, SR 43.4, Econ 3.25 (22/5)

wasim akaram
he could bat also in case if the team would need his batting skills. as far as his bawling goes he is the best bawler in the world. better than any of those in that catagary of the poll.

Haha, there's no way you could say he's better than Hadlee, Murali and Marshall? Doubtful. It's a toss up between Hadlee, Marshall and Murali for mine, but I think I'll give it to Murali. Two spinners and three fast bowlers is pretty much the best balanced bowling attack available, especially when they're of this quality.

If anyone but Murali wins this, it will be a shame. Wickets count and Murali has taken 3-4 times as many wickets as Hadlee and Marshall have in these two decades. No contest.

Wasim Akram was a better bowler than both Hadlee & Marshall. Its not like you are comparing Ajit Agarkar with McGrath.

no way haroon. both hadlee and marshall were superior bowlers. way ahead of akram actually. also, hadlee was a marginally better bat than akram. if u are going to go for a fast bowler it has to be between marshall and hadlee. i went for murali, though.
