Thanks Liam.

Yeah, obviously my skill will have dropped a considerable amount, more than fair. Which I think will make me a better batsman than bowler on my form last season. :p I am more than happy to sit on the sidelines and work while my recently-playing team-mates play in the starting side.

So yeah, I`ll return, and take my place in the wings, where I currently belong. :D Just happy to be back in the swing of things. I`m sure Adam, Demeza and co will easily make for a fearsome attack for the Blues, it looks brilliant without me. Carn the Blues.

Hang on... I just remembered. Neil`s injury sim! ARGH! :-O

Yeah... how many people who got full-season-injuries early in last season actually stuck around? I know Delkap got struck early after a good start to the season and then he never came back. :(

I do believe that`s one thing that should be taken from the 'game'. Full-season injuries. They wreck it up bad, they do. Short-term injuries ****ed me off enough, if I got a long-term one I reckon I would`ve died. :p Though I do agree that short-term injuries make it more realistic. :)

There are a percentage of 'season injuries' IRL though.

Michael Clark - Retravision Warriors is the first who springs to mind.

Yeah, of course mate. I`m just saying, that for something like this, where participation is the key, it perhaps shouldn`t be a part of it. Imagine a poor rookie who had played like a few games and was just getting into it, but then got a huge injury. This would most likely see him leave CW Cricket and maybe CW all-together.

I agree. There is a line that you have to draw between reality and simulation. If you really wanted this all to be realistic, you'd only play one season a year and space 4/5 day games over four and five days, but I certainly wouldn't want that to happen. Simulations are about participation and enjoyment and I feel that season-length injuries take away both of those things for the players affected.

Lezama had a long term injury last season and was active throughout, great team man :)
He is :)

Despite being a lil scary and strange when it came to Llamas.

Delkap: Injured on 3rd Feb 2005. Unable to play Dev League cricket until August 2005.
Lezama: Injured on 3rd Feb 2005. Unable to play Dev League cricket until 4th March 2005.

I'd say that's a pretty big difference. Not taking anything away from Lezama, I think he'd probably have stuck around to support us Greens because he's one of the most avid supporters a team could have - but we can't expect that out of everyone. One month of not playing compared to six months of not playing is a pretty big difference in my opinion.

wow i had no idea injuries went beyond the league season, of which Lezama missed most of the middle part

maybe injuries could be capped at 3 weeks or something

just checked it he missed 26 games, which is alot even if its not the rest of the season, and its a little too much for mine, anyways i will have a chat to the Board about that :)

I enjoy the realism. I certainly wouldn't stop being active amongst the cricketweb XI community, just because I got a season long injury. I support my team when I'm away on international duty, and the national side if I am not selected.

Ah, but you've been around for a long time, Wright. Like I said, some of us, yes, will easily hang around - but if you want to encourage participation, then you have to accept that it would be a lot easier if you didn't have such long-term injuries. If you're happy to just carry on losing the interest of players with less enthusiasm than the top 20-30 members, then go right ahead and keep things as they are.

Even still. I don't think long term injuries should be taken out of the game. Perhaps they could be reduced, but they do happen.

:-O Scathing. I entirely agree though.

Reduced, yes. I don't mind a month away (and that's a lot of games) but a full season, to me, is a bit much.
