I didn't think Flintoff would play another Test or Jones for that matter. The former has just happened and we're not too far off the latter, may even happen this series.
By the start of this season I'd long since given-up hope of ever seeing Simon Jones again. Flintoff, well, I'd come to regard it as a bonus if he ever played again, though hadn't completely despaired.

Still regarding him as a walking injury waiting to happen though, as his ankle position remains the same as ever.

What makes it even more remarkable is that multi-quote wasn't available at the time.

Eh? What's that to do with anything?

We had enough separate quotes without lumping lots of different replies in the same one!

He left the CW forums in a huff, as demonstrated by his goodbye posts.
Just read the post in question. Strange reasons I must say. Who really cares how many posts one accumulates  - bizarre. Didn't always see eye-to-eye with Marc, but not a bad poster none-the-less.

BTW - oh dear at the posts between myself and tec earler. Sooooooooooo tempting to reply to them all now. :)
You know Id just reply to them thereby starting another vicious circle thats only ever likely to end when one of us has a break away from the forum:p

Only way I'd be able to say would be to re-read the damn thing, which TBH I have no intention of doing.

Paul Collingwood is another, didn't think that highly of him when he first came in, he has had success in Test cricket, so I guess that it counts.

Ian Healy. The first time I saw him was in 1989 in England when he had a pretty poor series and didn't look an international player. On the strength of that I managed to convince myself he was a no-hoper. Wrong.

I'm going to be honest, I never thought that Ishant Sharma would have done well in Australia, either in Tests or ODIs.

From the current Indian team, Ganguly is the player whose success and longevity has surprised me the most. His successful comeback ,in particular, has been remarkable.

Sidebottom. Laughed my arse off when he got his England recall. Was a frumpy left arm seamer who bowled possibly the least accurate spell ever bowled in a roses game in my lifetime at OT, failed to take a wicket in his only Test and was released by Yorkshire. Not laughing any more.
