He's pretty straight up and down on Trackside - although has the odd bit of repartee with the on-course presenters.

Ed,

Tipping anything for the Kelt Capital Stakes yet? Starcraft should be tough to get past. Very good field all the same.
Well, Starcraft's pretty good, might even go on and perform in Europe, but I just have a feeling Balmuse might cause an upset...:D

Apologies for the late reply.

On The Sport Forum in late 2003 I said that Phil Jaques, Mike Hussey, Chis Gayle and Cam White will become great cricketers.
Yes, you heard me, I was on the Hussey bandwagon before it was even a bandwagon! Ha!
The Hussey bandwagon began a long time before 2003. :p

South Australia's Chris Davis (Davies?) is one that has popped up in my head, he looked like he had some potential to be a more then udefull player but IIRC he retired due to injury.

yes and no

his batting has been awesome, but his bowling had alot more potential. Unfortunately due to injury it seems, his bowling dropped of a fair bit.

Because this thread (made in 2002 mind you) is about players who you predicted would be great, but failed.

I think many people have just read the title and are posting their predictions of who will be great, when its not the aim of the thread. ;)

Only joking.

Shoulder got him in the end. In reality, his cystic fibrosis wasn't helping matters either and it was going stop him playing sooner rather than later anyway.

Brett Dorey(he's not "great" yet) before he even made his first class debut, I used to watch him down at freo. I always thought there was something special about his bowling.

Damn, missed the first line. Please discredit (is that the right word) my previous 3 posts.

Since I haven't replied to the actual topic yet, I thought Zaheer would go on to great things. He's fallen flat since then unfortunately.

Gee thanks, you're quite the tipster. The Luke Radich of this forum... (or should I say, the Brendon Weaver? ;) )
