In fairness a lot of that had to do with injury. Shame, because he was a serious bowler.Yeah he was the one that never looked as threatening again after that series.
should not take anything away from Big Phil but I think prior to this game there was a big mutiny against Miandad the skipper by some senior players which might have played a role in this scorecardPhil Simmons in this ODI.
I believe his figures of 4/3 remain the most economic spell for any bowler completing his 10 overs. I can appreciate that Simmons was a useful part-timer when conditions favoured his gentle out-swingers, however those figures are just ridiculous.
And the 2012 series against WI. And the following Ashes as well.Nah it was more sustained than that from Bresnan. Had a good 12 months, was very handy in the 2011 series against India too.
Often a decent bowler but he looked like a man possessed that day - it may just have been the expression on his face, but he certainly gave the impression of being a couple of yards quicker than usual as wellReally that much of a variance for Big Bob?
It was an inspired spell for sure, although 320 odd wickets @ 25...more than a decent bowler.Often a decent bowler but he looked like a man possessed that day - it may just have been the expression on his face, but he certainly gave the impression of being a couple of yards quicker than usual as well
Great call. Not many liked facing him, but that day was something different all together.heh, bob willis was more than a decent bowler.
devon malcolm, 9/57. one of the most lethal and **** your pants scary bowling performances of all time by a guy who was at best a scattergun.
