Day I have a kid at 6 years of age is... well, didn't happen 16 years ago.
Here we go..I think Murali is over rated, how can a bloke be considered the worlds best when his action is so bad they have to change the rules so he can play!
I am a newbie here. didn't find any introductions thread. So pardon me if I look like a troll. Here we go..
If you had done some proper research into the ICC study you would have discovered that every single bowler in international cricket today has a kink in their action therefore under the old laws making them illegal. That was why the rule was changed.
I'm not a complete expert on the chucker thing. I run like hell when someone mentions it because all sorts of nasty stuff completely unrelated to the topic (personal abuse etc) crops up. You may well be right, the experts around here could probably raise a few good points for the debate.I am a newbie here. didn't find any introductions thread. So pardon me if I look like a troll.
I think Murali doesn't throw his conventional off spin has been well established. The problem is his doosra. IIRC, to bowl the doosra his bend is more than 10 degrees. The ICC had a system where they would only allow 5-10 degrees for spin bowlers. But after conducting the study they have universally increased the allowable bend to 15 degrees which helps Murali (and also Harbhajan) to get away with his doosra. I think the limit should go back to 10 degrees for spinners.
The Ranji trophy scene in India is pathetic. You see so many bowlers who are bending their arms to get more spin as also bowl the doosra. But, if everyone is ok with it, then you just have to accept and move on.
Thank you.Welcome to the forum BTW
Research suggested 10 degrees was not enough for most bowlers.I am a newbie here. didn't find any introductions thread. So pardon me if I look like a troll.

Why should fast bowlers get to bend 15 and slow bowlers only 10. The rule made no sense, so they fixed it. And those guys chucking in Ranji Trophy will straighten out at the international level real fast after they're called a couple times by the match referee for throwing.I am a newbie here. didn't find any introductions thread.
