PCB proposes yearly quadrangular T20 tournament with India, Pakistan, Aus, England

My first reaction is that this is a terrible idea that will just make the already-cluttered international calendar even more cluttered and do nothing but line the pockets of already rich boards + Pakistan, but I suppose I'm open to being convinced otherwise

Whatever it takes!!!
He has no intention or seriousness about this AFAIC. He is just using it to wage a media war on BCCI and India. Rameez has acted as a mouthpiece of Pak politics than cricket so far and I do not see that changing,, unfortunately. The clearest sign is he posted this on Twitter than tabling it to the ICC first.

LOI-only tours suck now because of Covid requirements meaning that the involved players will often miss out on proper cricket. Not a fan of another one.

But (if anything actually cricket-related) this is just Pak trying to equally stake a claim as a top cricket nation and get money; unlikely to be supported anyways.

This isn't even a real proposal yet is it? Just Ramiz mouthing off on twitter. Has the PCB actually put something formally in writing to the BCCI/CA/ECB?

Don't think they'll go for it tho. Still not sure if the Indian team will even go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy that is supposed to happen there in a couple of years time. And that's an ICC global event. Some made up 4-team series like this wouldn't be appealing at all.

Back on topic, I'd like the return of non world cup, multi team ODI/T20 series. I miss the old Natwest series in England, usually was Eng, Aus and one other side, in most cases an Asia touring side. Heck, Sharjah used to be brilliant and throughout much of the late 80s and 90s produced better ODI cricket and passionate fans than world cups.

T20 may be the format for this and with the UAE a neutral safe haven these days, hat could be the place. Comfy for everyone, big money involved, good fans. Win/win here.
