Pakistan Tour of South Africa 2018/19

I know I'm being critical again... but this performance by Olivier is why I don't think he should get in front of Ngidi.

Olivier bowls some dangerous balls, great back of length bowler, but does not make the batsmen play enough, not consistent with line and length and against better quality batsmen, used to bounce, will be found out. Already the Pak batsmen leaving the wide balls alone and playing him better.

Pakistan batsmen been so much better..... I still want to see this 'dangerous' viper pitch .
Ngidi doesn’t deserve to get ahead of Oliver in the pecking order. One bad innings doesn’t change anything.

Great day to go and watch... Brilliant counterpunching from Shan and Asad (and Babar), though we really got a bit carried away with the short stuff (was swearing at Olivier a lot particularly). Yes it worked in the first innings, and nearly worked a few times here (and did work vs. the tail), but needed to be followed up by more fuller stuff in the channel.

Well I dont know if you guys saw the part where Ngidi was walking around the boundary at Newlands, but it looks like he aint coming back soon. His whole leg is still in the brace contraption type thing

Is this (South Africa's) the best pace quartet that took cricket field since 80s West Indians? It would be at least pretty damn close. So much quality.

Definitely, although in 1995 vs England SA fielded the following 5-man attack (Think it was Polly's debut). Game was rained out and Schultz injured himself.

Donald
Schultz
Pollock
Matthews
McMillian

The thing is very rarely have teams played four seamers consistently... Trios like Waqar/Wasim/Aqib or later Waqar/Wasim/Shoaib for Pak or Australia's McDermott/McGrath/Reiffel then McGrath/Gillespie/Lee were top notch.

For sure, I'd say so. Who else?
Against India last year South Africa fielded Steyn, Philander, Rabada, and Morkel (although not for the entire match as Steyn got injured). So it's a question of who is better - Morkel or Olivier?

Morkel was fantastic in the last 2 years. That’s the best, Morkel ever bowled.

terrible performance, entirely expected. I am definitely not missing anything it seems.

And read in the papers that Mickey Arthur was crying about the pitches.

What a load of bs. SA are going to beat this crap pakistan side anywhere in the world.

Well played SA, at least much better than Pak and congrats on winning the series

Morkel only managed 8 5 wicket hauls in his entire career and never 10. Olivier already has 2 five wicket hauls and a 10 . Olivier also has the advantage in first class cricket.
If you want someone who is more likely to keep the pressure on morne is your guy but if you want someone to take wickets Olivier is more likely.

Personally I like olivier more. Morkel lacked the killer instinct of a wicket taker imho.

Morkel was a fine player especially when on song, but yeah lacked something. That spell v Clarke an example, he looked threatening and bowled absolute heat, but ultimately Clarke got a massive score and South Africa lost that test along with the home series.

The Centurion wicket was poor but we've had nearly 1000 runs here, 1 century and 7 half centuries and Pak put on about 140 runs in 25 overs yesterday for the loss of 1 wicket. Been tough for the batsman at times but anyone who got in made runs.
