hmm had the debate I remember in the other ATG thread. On another day I might have selected Younis Khan, but Zaheer Abbas too good and elegant for me to ignore.

Yeah, the title was a piss-take of the title of a Viv Richards thread. "Master of black magic?" I believe that one was called. It might have been Sobers actually.

I think that the No.6 batting spot deserves a vote all on its lonesome because it's pivotal to the make-up and balance of the team.

There are some great players to choose from. Here are some suggestions;

Mohammed Yousuf
Saleem Malik

Will our team favour batting or bowling? Please choose a No.6 'batsman'......

Yeah, weird to choose #6 now IMO. We should pick the four bowlers, keeper and the openers first.. Imran will definitely get picked as one of the bowlers, then we can ask people to choose their 11th player - that could either be another bowler to send Imran up to 6 or another batsman to send him down to 7. That'd give better more control over what they were actually voting for IMO.

Anyway, Mushtaq Mohammed if we're going to do it like this.

Imran, Wasim, and Waqar at their peaks with a spinner should be able to run through the opposition

Imran, Wasim & Waqar are auto picks. Imran I will pick for 7 as we have never produced a keeper who could match batting wise AT XI keepers from other sides and our best gloveman Bari was a genuine # 10.

For # 6 Salim Malik imo a better bat of quality bowling then both Mo Yo and Abbas was a dirty prick but then we all have our faults.

The purpose of what you have suggested PEWS is to decide where Imran should bat - No.6 or No.7.

This is what we are doing right now, rather than at the very end during the 11th pick. Either way the outcome is exactly the same. It's just a matter of timing.

At least that's the way I see it because Imran is 100% guaranteed to get selected no matter what, but I could be wrong.
