Dressage, absolutely ridiculous.
Yeah, agreed, unfortunately. They're very capable, but equally have a tendency to put in a terrible performance after an excellent one. The game against Netherlands was their best of the tournament - we should have won, really, the Dutch looked a bit flat and it was only our lack of finishing that cost us (though Whitelock's goal was an absolute screamer); so now watch as we stumble to a loss in our next clutch game. There's also been a number of unexpected results in the other pool, so we could easily end up with a quarter final vs Argentina/Australia, neither of whom have been in form this tournament but you wouldn't want to come up against in an early knockout game. In a way, I think I'd probably actually prefer if we fall to third in our pool; that will give us a quarter vs USA/GB who are in good form, but imo still weaker teams than the other two. The men meanwhile only have the slimmest chance to go through; superb performance against Belgium last night but our quarter will be either Germany or Netherlands, who you'd think will just be a bit too good.Pains me to say it, but I don't think the hockey girls will be in the mix. They've been incredibly profligate in front of goal, and just don't look like they have the right mentality. The late goal they let in against Spain was incredibly slack, and some of the things the captain said after the loss against Germany makes me think not all is right in the squad.
She is stupidly good. The really fit GB girl who got silver behind her in the 400 and 800 was miles back in both.katie ledecky is just spectacular, not sure we ever saw such dominance in the pool!
