When did we get so bad at athletics? We could seriously end up with no medals at all in the worst case scenario.

I know, far cry from the previous two decades

When I was a kid, Athletics was our all-time most successful sport, in terms of global champions (ie, worlds, Olympics and any other equivalent). Cycling seems to be top dog now.

Dire, bagging Radcliffe is the most uncool thing ever. She is arguably our best track & field athlete for the last 10 years or so, can't knock her for that.

Her failure to win the big one will always count against her. That is, of course, assuming she doesn't somehow do it in London

Why does athletics have qualifying and finals on the same night yet swimming has everything on different days?

Swimming is more physically draining than some athletics?

Swimming 100m is a lot harder on your body than running 100m imo.

It's a miracle she actually managed to be able to be fit enough to manage to start the race, and even better that she managed to finish it. She had a broken femur at some point in the last 6 months, not sure when, but that would put most people out for a year.
