I am obviously unable to see any cricket these days, but is Mohammad Zahid in any way close to his old form, speed and action?
He got a hammering in the first ODI he played 1-79 in that game (Vermeluen to blame) he bowled short in that game and was looking very rusty. But today he came up with a much better performance. Bowled the correct line and length. His pace has obviously slackened, he was around the 135-140 region the whole of his spell. But I heard Ramiz say that he(zahid) was just holding back so that he could settle into International cricket.
I think the future bowling attack of Pakistan was in operation today with Sami, Shoaib and Zahid at the helm.

There will be no better thing for Pakistan if Zahid comes up with the goods, he is one of those players who looks International quality

Good effort by Grant today as well, the two brothers have been the corner stone of Zimbabwean cricket for soo long, they just dont seem to produce the likes of them often !

BTW what's up with Stuart Carlisle? Where is he? Is he injured? Did he pull a Goodwin?
Out of form, even got dropped by his club side after not making any scores of note in their 1st 3 matches.

Wel, even though they're going to lose heavily, respect to Grant Flower for one of the best One Day Centuries in a long long time.
Yeah he scored almost half the total runs...maybe more! It reminds me of his innings when he scored 96* and Murry Goodwin 118* (or something near) to defeat the WIndies a few years ago in a Natwest Series match. One of the best wins I've ever seen and I've got the highlights on tape. Nice to know he's getting back into form again, now if he can open for Zimbabwe in Tests then that would help them a lot. Zimbabwe need a solid opening partnership...

:O 2 great innings for the price of 1! Grant Flower with an un-beaten, 146 ball 105, and now Faisal Iqbal wins the match for Pakistan with an un-beaten, 97 ball 100!!! I still rate Grant's innings higher though, it was under immense pressure and against an attack which doesn't include any farmers...Grant's innings was the type usually associated with his brother Andy, a brave innings under immense pressure due to a batting collapse.

But well done to both of them!

Thats quite bizarre that Stuart Carlisle not so long ago was the captain of Zimbabwe..now he can't even make his club team even with the lack of talented players in Zimbabwe!?

Zimbabwe right now need some more experienced players in this series with Pakistan.

Hopefully Carlisle will go to the World Cup. Even if he's out of form, his experience will be handy. BTW what's wrong with farmers?? Can farmers not play cricket or somethin? Are farmers handicapped in some way???

No there's nothing wrong with Farmers. It's just that all the countries have completely professional players in their International Teams and half of Zimbabwe's are farmers who practise and play in the domestic matches and schoolkids. All in all Zimbabwe is a "part time" country whilst basically all the rest are professional. It's just the way it is.

White washed.......

The series is closed with another Pakistani win. They go on to South Africa now for the last and important stint against the Proteas before the World cup.
A tour in which I hope they would follow up with good wins.

I have this impression of the Zimbabwean cricketers that they come in and fade away quickly (the majority of them) is that a true impression ?

With the exception of a certain pair of brothers, of course.

That would indicate poor player handling wouldn't it ?
Where is Neil Johnson BTW ? he was the star of the eye of the Zimbabweans, but now he's nowhere in sight !?

Bazza

International 12th Man
Yes he has done for the past two seasons, but hopefully no longer...never really did much.:(

Well theoretically we could have had a better overseas player in there contributing 1500 runs or 75 wickets but instead we get a mediocre AR who is the same standard as one or two players we have on our books anyway.

I think Pakistan has now got their confidence back and should be dangerous in the WC. They just needed to win to get the momentum going and the Zimbabweans were very good hosts.

Let's just hope that they're not over confident because the upcoming oppositon is a whole lot better than what they saw in Zimbabwe.

Johnson did little in Tests really for Zimbabwe...wickets at 39 and a batting average of 24 with one century doesn't look like the star of Zimbabwe...he was a good opener in ODIs but he hasn't been that good in OD cricket for Hampshire and still took his FC Wickets at 39 a piece. His bowling seems to have gone to hell...it already had in ODIs before he retired...
