Gayle also got a plumb LBW when they were 107/5 , but again the umpire got it totally wrong. He was just late on the shot attempting to play a cut. There is no way in hell you can say he wasn't playing a shot.
Awful umpiring yet again.
He was definitely playing a shot, he was just beaten by the arm ball. Probably shouldn't have been given, but it wasn't a shocker or anything.Could argue there was no shot played. His bat was behind the pad and a long way from the ball, though you might say it was just the fact he was outwitted by the ball.
Comes down to the interpretation of the 'no shot' law imo.
He didnt really go through with the shot once he realised it wasnt there for the cut. The bat didnt go through the strike zone so to speak. He just dropped his hands and got the pad in the way.He was just late on the shot attempting to play a cut. There is no way in hell you can say he wasn't playing a shot.
Awful umpiring yet again.
Not so goodNow, we just have to see how well Fletcher bats....
Well he will not get a better surface to bowl on then this, it is perfect for any spinner. But his variations are impressive and he has improved out of sight since I last saw him.Is Cremer usually this impressive?
In many respects, yes. He does struggle a bit when batsmen use their feet to him properly though as he doesn't really have a quicker one and he's not great at changing up his length, and he doesn't normally get pitches that turn this much, but he's got all the tools and pretty decent accuracy these days. A far cry from the bowler he was when he made his Test debut and got decimated. Is Cremer usually this impressive?
Can bowl reasonably quickly (low 130s) when he wants to. Not a great deal of point in it on this pitch though.Think "medium fast" flatters Chigumbura immensely tho.
The commentators made more of a fuss than needed. It was dead straight and theres no way anything is bouncing over the top on this pitch. When you see it side on it looks like its hitting 3/4 of the way up. Good decision. Now Shiv is given out to a highly debatable lbw. Surely too high and turned too much? How is Duncan consistently aloud to do this in international matches? He should have been sacked after giving KP out lbw to one that would have missed another set of stumps.
