Jeez, that’s the kinda result you’d have expected WI to have inflicted on Scotland in the 1999 World Cup. You have to say that with WI dropping games to Zim, Ned and now Scotland that - in terms of ensuring a competitive tourney - the World Cup will be better for their absence.

Yeah this isn't some fluke due to an upset or two. They're genuinely just definitely not one of the best ten ODI teams. They're probably not even in the top twelve - they're likely to finish 5th here and they deserve it.

Wow what a significant day in the annals of cricketing history ..
The West Indies , become the first World Cup winners to fail to qualify for an ODI World Cup , a stain on the record of a once powerful cricketing empire.
They’re definitely in the “Ottomans laying siege to Constantinople” phase of their empire.

Sad story for Windies. But this result now makes the qualifiers even more interesting. It is a 3 way race now between Zim, SL and Scots..with SL mostly taking a place and second place between zimbos and Scots.

Man this just sad for the Windies. They keep going down more and more in the short forms and don’t seem to have many players to pick from. There test team is alright but they next few years doesn’t look good for them

That West Indies team should not be losing to the likes of Netherlands and Scotland
Individual batting talent wise we should not be losing to them yes. But in every other way they are better than us, in planning, team spirit, effort, consistency, passion, fielding, work ethic etc.

So we thoroughly deserve to be in this position. May it signal a much needed ripping up of the current white ball side and a fresh start from the India series onwards. These players suck, let's at least play with youngsters who might actually give a damn and field properly.

PS Desmond Haynes must go, he has consistently selected this lot in spite of lots of evidence that they are mentally feeble. He has overseen 2 world cup qualifying exits.

Selection won't suddenly make us competitive again but it can certainly help us be better than this!!

Though it has to be said that associate nations are really ramping up their standards. Scotland were so disciplined both with ball and bat. It's great to see their improvement.

crazy, do we now consider WI an associate nation in cricket ???

watch them still do over England in test matches

In ODI cricket yes! We have sucked at the format for nearly 10 years now.

Test cricket we're still top 8 and can beat anyone on our day, particularly at home.

T20's we verge between associate level and being decent depending on Pooran and Powell's form.

I would like to watch zim v SL more than on going Ashes( eng need 257 more with Duckett*(50)/Stokes*(27)/ Johnny bairstow/ Robinson & 3 Tail)remain to be bats

India should scrap 5 T20I vs Windies in up coming tour & play 3+3 ODI good for westindies
