at least the Scots are giving us a run for ur money in the biggest disappointment stakes
What's disappointing about the Scots is their bewilderingly defensive tactics. They don't even appear to be trying to reach their target, just occupy the crease for a bit.

i think afghanistan can still go through
if other results go their way and they win their last 2 matches

if they win today vs scots which is looking likely and beat namibia in their last match they will have 6 points.

You basically need 8 points to make the WC. 6 points might be enough for an ODI spot depending on NRR.

but the top 4 will qualify

1 match left after today and then we will have quite a few teams on 4 points and the 4th on 6 points.

if the team thats on 6 points loses its last match and the one of the teams on 4th spot gets to 6 points aswell it may well be decided on run rate.

this is as it stands
Team Mat Won Lost Tied N/R Pts Net RR For Against
Canada 5 4 1 0 0 8 +1.393 1244/233.0 951/241.0
Ireland 5 4 1 0 0 8 +0.903 1000/201.2 1016/250.0
Kenya 5 3 2 0 0 6 +0.916 968/212.2 841/230.5
Netherlands 5 3 2 0 0 6 +0.103 1173/239.5 1193/249.1
Scotland 5 2 3 0 0 4 -0.513 973/250.0 1047/237.4
U.A.E. 5 2 3 0 0 4 -1.389 968/246.3 1010/190.0
Afghanistan 5 1 4 0 0 2 -0.549 1113/250.0 1211/242.1
Namibia 5 1 4 0 0 2 -0.847 1123/250.0 1293/242.1

For a side the qualify with six ponts your relying on Kenya, Holland and UAE to all lose their matches. Possible but a tad unlikely, especially if Ireland send out a 2nd XI. Scotland looked toasted after two tough games against Holland and Kenya. Canada will probably send out their 1st XI again, but their weakness were all their to see today, even if it was a 2nd XI. Holland haven't played that bad either today.

Actually, with the competitiveness of this comp, the ICC could be well advised to rethink their decision on who does/doesn't get ODI status. One thing this comp has proved is that any top 8 team can pretty much beat any other. Give them all ODI status and create 2 leagues of 10 with promo/relegation.
Eight sides play in the IC Cup. That where you want quanity. I still think teams should earn their WC spots and ODI spots to play with the big boys. The current format of 2 Twenty20 WC spots, 4 WC spots, 6 ODI spots and 8 FC spots is perfect for mine.
