England just about got there in the end. Yet another exciting game in what has been a great tournament so far.

Hoping Pakistan give the Windies a good game tomorrow.

This loss would have hurt a lot less if England had cruised home by six wickets - to take all those late wickets and come so close was devastating. :(

I can't help but think the result might have been different if it hadn't been for the Devine and Tahuhu injuries, but ultimately it's our own fault for not batting out our overs and not scoring enough runs.

Right now I don't really feel like watching cricket again any time soon, but since it's been such an exciting tournament, I might try to force myself to get back into it ASAP.

If, and we know about If's, NZ had batted their final 7 balls, got another 5-8 runs who knows, but not batting the 50 overs out is criminal.

We saw WI against the Bangers, only 9-140 off 50 overs, but had they been dismissed four or five balls short, they likely wouldn't have won.

Very rough to have it all come down to injuries and then weather playing a fairly big part at the end (I kinda wonder if they had gone off if the result wasn't so crucial for both teams...)

Too many people not contributing in the England side atm I feel - second opener, new ball bowlers. Luckily Dean turned up today.

Also, this is not a stat you'd want to top

That big storm blasted through Northland earlier this morning, and it's cleared now into a beautiful day up here. Sounds like it's been similar in Auckland too, so hopefully that better weather carries on down the road south.

Looks like the sun is out in Hamilton now too, so hopefully the game can get underway in the not-too-distant future. But whether I've recovered enough from yesterday's heartbreak to actually watch it remains to be seen.

The cut off time to start play is 7.08 pm.

Not sure how many overs per side we would get if that happened.?

West Indies wouldn't really be too disappointed if this ends in a washout.
I think this is probably the easiest opponent they are going to get and they're favourties to win. I don't see why they wouldn't want to go for the win and pick up the points.

I was speaking in the context of a washout. It doesn't matter much if they get one or two points out of this game as they have to win their next one, against RSA, to qualify.

Another inspection at 6.15 (NZ), cut-off time is 7.08.pm. A couple of wet patches on the outfield.

They are barely going to get a match.

The RSA game could get washed out as well, which means the 2 points here could be vital for them.
