England do excite and frustate in equal measure.

It has been discussed earlier in the thread. I'm really excited by the bowling attack. Filer, Bell, Dean, Guar, Wong, Glenn as well as world leading Ecclestone and others I've surely missed are young and still improving. From a very high bar already.

In general terms, the runs have come from the over 30 year olds, in particular DWH and the ever amazing NSB. Today some of the younger bats have stepped up which is great. More consistency needed.

I'm looking forward to Tammy Beaumont coming back in for the ODI and Test (I know, age...) and sad that the always impressive ADR wasn't selected (another over 30) who scored a ton on the last test she played.

Whilst Dunkley, Bouchier and Capsey are being targeted by the management as future talent and have had a lot of time invested in them as a casual observer there is a significant gap in the batting talent of the over 30s to the under 30s.

I'm not for one moment suggesting ditching the likes of Beaumont, Wyatt-Hodge, Sciver-Brunt, Knight et al who are all world class.

The frustration is that the young batting talent hasn't quite hit the straps at this level.

There will inevitably be retirements in the next few years, I hope the under 25 bats can step up.

Hoping for a great WBBL final to restore my enthusiasm for cricket after NZ's lousy test performance.

Well done to the Renegades. It was a shame it became a DLS game, which is never that satisfactory for a final, but they're worthy winners.

England are going to have to bowl exceptionally well here. After their bowlers have to bat exceptionally well.

This is true.

Spinners put on England's highest partnership of the innings, they might have given themselves something to bowl at.

Why are SA holding Kapp back?

Should have bowled her more in the opening spell.
Pitch started to misbehave so may not be the worse score on here.

If you get NSB early then there's every chance the rest collapse, her and Knight can't always prop this team up.

No idea what Dunkley is doing back in this team
it does seem kinda like a deckchairs on titanic problem (plus being unwilling to give up on plans that don't work in practice, see also the T20 World Cup run)
