Would be nice to see a decent pitch for an ICC Final for a change. India much the best in these conditions, but a decent effort by England who didn't select their Full Squad players like Capsey and Kemp.

It will be interesting to see how the WPL works out, sadly only 5 teams I believe which suggests that not many non-Indian women will get a look in.

Some World Cup warm ups today. England have smashed 247-7 against SA and heading to a comfortable victory. India restricted Aus to 129-8 (although a 9th wicket partnership of 50 in 4.2 overs made it a lot better than it should've been). India 25-4 in reply.

Key group game of the tournament will be England v India which will probably decide who meets/avoids Australia in the semis.

The sad thing about this tournament is that most of the results are inevitable, so it basically all rests on a team's performance in one or two games. Ehhhh

And yet we now have Ireland threatening to beat the Aussies in a warm up match. The all conquering Australia have yet to look that formidable so far, that probably all changes come tournament time. Ireland need 31 from 4 overs with 5 wickets remaining to chase down 169.

England meanwhile thrash NZ with over 6 overs to spare. They certainly seem to be trying to play a more aggressive brand of cricket to match their male counterparts, which if it comes off, is probably most likely to challenge the Aussies.

And Ireland beat Australia by 3 wickets with 2 balls to spare. I know it's only a warm up, but perhaps not as invincible as they think....although just noticed that both Healey and McGrath did retire during the Aussie innings.

Well done SL! Of course the batting was all about Athapaththu, as usual, but it looks like an impressive performance by the bowling attack.

Form guide kinda leans one way for this afternoon's game.

Aus v NZ will be a closer thing, though with SA losing their opener it's pretty likely both sides go through regardless.
