Impressive no-ball count from Gabriel a little worrying. He's the sort of guy who I could see going the distance on English pitches, extra pace won't help that much unless he gets it in the right place consistently and has control of the movement.

After what England did to RSA and given WI woeful overseas record, anything less than a 3-0 whitewssh should be a disappointment for England and a big improvement for the WI

Didn't realise there was still 3 Tests to go. England play so many home tests every year. Meanwhile poor NZ making do with 4 Tests in a home season and **** all else.

I don't know what my point is just wondering out loud.

Even more remarkable, Windies getting three whole practice matches before a test series.

That's disgustingly generous preparation for 2017

Crane would have played (or been in the squad) against SA instead of Dawson, if Woakes was fit. At least that's what was reported in a couple of the newspapers a while back.- and given Crane's callup now, I'm inclined to believe that.

Can definitely see Crane playing one test in this series.

Another 4 in 4 overs in 2nd dig. Better to get a case of the no balls now than in first Test though.

I'll be going Friday, looking forward to it. Being able to get some food and have a beer at lunch before going to stadium will be nice change.

Not expecting anything out of this series at all. But I will be looking to see how Laws's influence on the team is coming along. I like how he's building up the staff around him. Just want to see a least a little bit of improvement in all areas of the side. Concerned about Kraigg's current form. He was poor vs Pakistan and this has carried on in England. Granted, the conditions are way different, but he's scored a ton in South Africa and a 90 in Australia so I'd expect him to know what's coming here. Meanwhile Chase just continues to impress. IF he can score big on this tour then maybe we can begin to start thinking he could become a world class performer. Also nice to see Shai Hope putting up some good scores aswell. In the bowling department Roach getting wickets was very encouraging. Lost his way big time over the last few years but on his day he's top class. So if he can find just an ounce of the form he showed in the past then that bodes well.

I actually think the first test, being a day/night match, is our best chance of causing an upset. With our attack and the ball swinging towards the evenings I can see us causing big problems if our boys stay calm and focused.

My hope is to simply see our young players enhance their games and make a statement. Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Blackwood etc. Step up and take this opportunity with both hands so we can at least have a core of players who can give us hope moving forward.

Agree the DN is a good chance, if England bat first we could easily get rolled. If Windies do I can see them getting a sub 200 score and their heads dropping, I think i'd bowl first if I won the toss.

Pardon my ignorance WW but does the WI have any promising left arm seamers?? I don't follow WI cricket as closely as I used to
