I don't think it's a bad declaration. England's bowling will be to blame if they lose from here. The pitch will turn square for Moeen, who can bowl 45 overs. Both of WI openers are ultra-defensive, and their nos. 3 and 4 aren't known for their limited overs game either. Unless all England bowlers bowl terribly poorly, the ask will be too much by the time Blackwood and Holder come to crease.
Problem is that, Anderson apart, England's pace attack isn't looking in great shape. Broad's poor form / decline has been well documented here, Woakes didn't look match fit in the first innings, and Stokes rarely takes many wickets. So, from here, England look massively dependent on Jimmy and Moeen.

fwiw I wouldn't have declared and, along with rotating TRJ for Woakes, it does send a message to the WI that England just don't rate them, which I agree is a dangerous game.

Good match though. :)

They didn't rotate TRJ for Woakes, they picked the player who is better.
Or maybe who they thought would be better, which was always going to be debatable given Woakes' lack of match fitness and TRJ's track record for England this summer.

But point taken about not being rotation.

Oh, and that "no ball" that they gave against Bishoo when he got ali cheaply? Just saw it again and of course the umpire upstairs went against logic because that always happens where we are concerned. Video technology doesn't seem to count with us.

The umpire upstairs wasn't involved, it was called on field and isn't reviewed. You also got a Gabriel decision against Stoneman which was mighty close.

Aren't the umpires upstairs not allowed to correct the decision of a no-ball? If not then my bad.

Dammit Cook!

I'll say again, Broad has bowled badly this summer but really hasn't had much luck either

True.

We need to be taking those, but instead we've given WI a bit of a start this morning.
I wonder how long Jimmy's first spell will last.
