Is Durham the Chennai of England? Minor grandstand collapse with a few people hurt. Wtf is going on there?

England's batting was largely abject. Did a great job of not hitting decidedly ordinary balls for 6 or 4, deciding that lobbing them to fielders was the way to go.

Thought I recognised Kesrick Williams - he's the one who got done in by current team mate Walton in the CPL

Pretty cool both of them got picked here. Gives weight to the encounter in the video, I watched a week ago but didn't realise either let alone both were international level

The blue seats beneath Lumley I see (just looked it up)? Those are temporary stands which at one time were meant to be replaced with permanent seating but they've been there forever, probably because of Durham's financial woes.

England's limited overs bowling is still so meh. Plunkett is basically the only guy who looks good right now and the worry with him is that he will be 34 by the time the world cup comes around and possibly past it. Rashid and Woakes tbf have also been pretty good over the last couple of years.

Right now though Woakes can't barely get the ball over 80mph. He's been back playing for over a month and yet seems way off the pace. Hope it's not permanent. Last winter in India he struggled to find the pace that he had the previous summer.
Rashid's done a decent job imo, although he does have the benefit of playing in a 6 man bowling attack which means he can be protected on certain days - which does benefit his figures. Crane improving and should offer good competition for Rashid.

TCurran bowled nicely against SA with some increased pace, but he lacked pace again yesterday. I know Surrey rested him recently so maybe he's had workload issues.
Willey hasn't developed. Still lacks that pace. If he doesn't take new ball wickets he offers little with the ball - although he is a good athlete in the field.
Topley permanently injured so no development there.
Wood possibly in the strongest side but another injury ravaged career.
Ball meh.
Mills in T20. Too bulky imo. Always injured. tough when only playing t20.

From outside the current group.

Saq Mahmood injured most of the season. Sam Curran still developing and short on pace. Helm maybe- Showed good variation this year and took lots of wickets in T20, also decent pace and bounce - probably still needs another year at least. Stone pacey but lacks the guile - only just back from career threatening injury.

On the T20 front Roy has never been a good t20 bat.

And Morgan is having a horror show in 20 over cricket right now. Just brutal. Has struggled in domestic t20 comps throughout his career - but surprisingly does well at the international level.

If Jimmy hasn't retired by this time next year they should start considering him for a home wc. They pick 6 bowlers as it is so they could use him mainly in the first 25 overs. Willey when he plays is doing a similar job.

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah dont see why Broad and Anderson cant be the #10 and 11 in that ODI side. They had such a golden opportunity to trial this with the CT being held in England this year. They have royally messed up, I feel.
