***Official*** West Indies Tour of Sri Lanka- February 2020

Losing 3-0 to Sri Lanka is not a good result, can't sugar coat that.

We definitely have some issues to address:

- Attacking spin bowler. Walsh Jr has potential but we can't use up a place in our team if Pollard only trusts him to bowl 3 overs.

- Darren Bravo won't cut it for ODI's. Hety might be irritating but he's the epitome of a modern ODI player and will win us the odd game.

I was pleased to see Ambris take his opportunity at last. I really think he should be batting in the middle order ahead of Bravo.
I'd say Shai Hope is an issue to address - uses up too many balls for the scores he's getting in the modern game.

If he scores at a strike rate of 85 it's fine tbh. Especially if we have hitters in around him. We can't afford 2 of him though and that's what we get with Bravo, only he's not as prolific.

He's been one of the most consistent batsmen in the world. Least of WI's concerns IMO. Considering he keeps as well, I'm not sure how much more you can reasonably expect from a cricketer.

Hope's strike rate is fine. It generally gets up to 100 once his score itself gets up to 100.
I have noticed he has been scoring at 95/100 until he gets to 30 or 40 and then getting bogged down. He still needs to work on strike rotation but he is getting gradually better.

Yeah, that's my gut impression too.

Regardless, he's a good little ODI player, and seems to put a lot of thought into constructing an ODI innings.

The ODI team was looking so good a few months ago, but with Hets gone, Bravo at 3 and Evin Lewis AWOL, it suddenly seems unbalanced.

Yep it has been a reality check. We're still a long way from where we need to be. Hety and Lewis will make a difference, though I've heard that Lewis keeps failing his yo yo test.

We need to sort the spin bowling slot out as a matter of priority.
