***Official***West Indies Tour of Sri Lanka- 3 T20Is &3 ODIs- October 2024

Sherfane with 4 half-centuries in 6 innings in his start to ODI cricket. I think he showed that he can play different roles according to the match situation. That’s gold for us going forward.

His mentality and play against spin was particularly impressive here. I know this is a pipe dream, but our full strength, no down bad T20 omissions ODI batting lineup could be pretty damn strong...

The bowling is still weak, particularly that last seamer slot. We need Shamar to come good. Let's see what they come up with for England and if Pooran, Hety and Akheil make themselves available.

On another note, is it just me that finds these ODIs and T20 day/night matches in parts of the world with significant dew, hard to get enthusiastic about?

All but one match in this series was won by the chasing side. The conditions are completely different when the outfield is wetter and the ball skids on. It's almost like playing an ODI on two different wickets. It's not a fair contest.

With the ‘main’ guys not wanting to go on these tours, it opens up opportunities for those who are hungry to get back and make a statement. I have to admit Lewis over Alick is a comparison where the former is a behemoth.

You need a guy at the top who can cleanly hit the ball as well as Evin.

Jewel is another one to look forward to. Push the youth man and let him make the most of the opportunities available. Him being a keeper is an added bonus.

We have resources in the pace department, what needs to happen is a rotation to build on experience.

Sometimes the odds aren’t in our favor; it’s just cricket man.
