England have bowled really well in this test it has to be said. Some cracking deliveries over the last day and a half. As I said earlier, they deserve the win, like we deserved the win in the first. Will make for a fantastic third test hopefully.

Whatever it takes!!!
All credit to England and especially Broad, who brought them back from the brink. The best thing about this England performance has been that, at least with the ball, at various times, different people have put their hand up and got the job done. Woakes looked utterly pedestrian for most of yesterday but contributed a telling burst when it mattered, ramming the door open after Broad unlocked it. Similarly today, with Stokes and Curran getting crucial wickets when it looked like Windies might just hang on to a hard fought draw.

Like I said, with a whimper. :(
They've fought, there's no doubt this Windies team always gives 100% and scraps. Ultimately the top and middle order batting just isn't good enough. For 2 years Chase, Holder and Dowrich have been bailing us out. Dowrich got a pair in this match and look at the consequence.

The standard of tailenders.. er.. I mean, lower order batsmen has improved so much in recent years. Great straight drive there from Joseph.

Windies pretty much the last team with that improvement though. There was a time in the 90s and noughties when their tail was even worse than ours.

Tbh Illingworth has made a lot of mistakes, he was awful in the first test. Umpire Gough is clearly of a different standard to the other two.

All this Gambhiring in this thread is annoying, the amount of times tailenders have survived in the last 20 years for draws, are multitude.

Edit, oh alright, bit more confident now...

Guess you can't really expect No. 10 and No. 11 to deadbat for 25 overs when the guys above the order have mostly failed. Looks daft but can't be too critical when there's no recognized batsman left.
