*Official* West Indies Tour of England 2020

Poor review from Burns and poor shot. Surely against Chase with the ball 14 overs old or whatever it was on the first morning, you would play the percentages and play for no spin and if you get beat on the outside edge then it’s a decent ball but don’t get beat on the inside edge with a ball that just goes straight on.

Review out of frustration. He keeps getting in and finding a soft way to get out. His average is going to stay locked in low 30s unless he can stop the soft dismissals. That was just a straight ball from Chase. Shame for Burns

You would would think you could trust the players to follow some pretty basic instructions though without the need for a detour and adding risk to players who are all committed to making the sacrifices necessary to get the game underway. Regardless of what the ECB could?ve done to avoid this it is completely irresponsible from Archer and downright stupid.
I don't disagree with anything you've said but, and I'm aware I'm stereotyping, I doubt anyone ever got rich overestimating fast bowlers' intelligence.

I'd hope the ECB logistics team could've foreseen and mitigated against such a scenario.

Looks like CowCorner was right in wanting to rest Gabriel for a game. Looks really bad so far.

The last-minute wicket puts a shine on an otherwise trashy session for WI.

i don't mind joseph in isolation as a bowling prospect, but he adds nothing as 4th quick that isn't already there. cornwall should really have played, especially since he is also a bowling allrounder to assist the #engineroom.

if they absolutely must have four quicks, is chemar holder a genuine 150kph man? if you're gonna meme the guy you drop the spinner for has to do something different to his mates. bowl left arm, bowl rapid etc.

Whatever it takes!!!
I mentioned during the last test first session of D2 CW comms about Burns' technique of playing so that he gets beaten. His footwork to Chase showed that, I think. Plonked his front foot across the line and then brought it back in line with the stumps. Guess once he is settled, his footwork will become more streamlined but that is an area bowlers can work on, with him.

They should give Joseph the new ball if he's playing. Roach bowling wide off the crease with it in overcast conditions is just sad.

Despite his modest pace Holder is coming off the surface quicker than anyone, being fourteen feet tall.
His release point is barely a couple of inches above Archer's tbf. His front knee collapses considerably, more than any international quick I've seen.

Doesn’t this lunch time special really show up the myth that is the great West Indies sides were paragons of virtue.
