Keep in mind this is the first I’ve seen of him, but I think about 6. Maybe a bit too cute with some field placings. I don’t think he trusts Bess. If he did he’d have used him to take up an end for a long time and rotate his quicks.

Having said that, he’s done quite well for a bloke who should be watching proceedings from a 6x8 cell in Pentonville Road Gaol.

he’s not going to if you give him four over spells and set blokes back so he can be milked for three singles an over. Once he settled on a line he should have brought the field up and backed him to bowl tight for a long spell. Different if he was getting rodgered but he wasn’t.

he’s basically a spectator now. Not enough runs to play with

Really enjoyed Jermaine sticking it England. Some of the Sky commentary was pretty condescending, suggesting England could just provoke him into getting out. His new incarnation seems to be sensible but no less confident.

i think it’s too late for Bess now. If someone takes him downtown in one over, they can erase a quarter of the deficit
