Start it on a Friday then. Most general punters only care about day 1, you'd have people knocking off early to go catch the arvo session too. Then you could roll into day 2 and day 3 with a proper crowd.

If the game gets to day 4/5 you'd have the committed fans finding a way to get there. Casuals aren't buying tickets to those days anyway unless they're cheap or there's jeopardy in the result.

This is almost the worst outcome for all involved.

Yeah no way Steve Smith becomes fastest to 10,000 Test runs now. His test ATG legacy will be FINISHED in 3 more tests (2nd WI test, NZ tests) as his average will drop below 57.

Kohli/Root will score big runs in upcoming IND-ENG series. Steve Smith is not even certain to end up as the best test batter from the Fab 4 at this rate either, let alone best test batter ever.
