***Official*** West Indies in Zimbabwe and South Africa

Ntini is a dunce when it comes to batting, sure South Africa have lost the game but Steyn was enjoying himself and could have made a fifty.

But anyhow great win by the West Indies, they dominated every session apart from when they lost the plot late last evening and fully deserved to go one up in the series. South Africa should have no qualms with the defeat, you don’t concede 400 runs in P.E and win test matches and similarly if you have walking wickets in your side, the likes of Kallis are not always going to bail you out. And it was good to see AB in the runs but please don't ask him to open now.

The last away Test victory against a non-minnow was in England in 2000! Back then, it was Walsh and Ambrose leading the pack. Seems like another age, doesn't it?

Seven years. It's got nothing on the 15 year dry spell that India had in the nineties, but its pretty amazing nonetheless. They've won four away matches since, but they were all against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

The drought is over. Well played to the Windies (any West Indian posters here?) - still don't think they'll win the series, but tonight belongs to Gayle and his men.

Good chance they will if South Africa don't make some changes to their side.

Gibbs needs to be the first to go, should be no problems there, only that they already have selected the same twelve for Cape Town ( ) but aside from that sticky point, there should be no arguments with his axing, even though its been three years to late. Elsewhere, Andre Nel needs to be shown the door, his batting has been more impressive than his bowling in 2007, that's tells you how well his been playing. Also, Ashwell Prince should probably also be served his notice, scored runs over the past couple of years and it would be ruthless of the selectors considering his failures are all relatively recent but better players have been dropped for less and his so boring it hurts. I cheered when he went fishing (again).

Go with this side for Cape Town and things begin to look brighter.

Has to be one of the greatest upsets in test history and one of the most needed tonics a cricketing country has ever had.

Brilliant!

It's all very well saying "Opener - but not Gibbs, Smith, or Dippenaar".

However, I feel that may be a similar choice to England's "striker - but not Owen, Rooney or Crouch".

Do we really want to see the cricketing equivalents of Andy Johnson, James Beattie and Darren Bent?

Apparently this is Bravo's first test win in 24 tests. That must be an amazing feeling.

I have the feeling South Africa will bounce back like they did against India earlier. When was the last time the West Indies pulled off an away series victory against non-minnows?

Great to see the Windies winning an away test against serious oppo after such a long time. :) I know one swallow doesn't make a summer & all, but hopefully it means that Caribbean cricket is back on the up slope again at least.

Just have to hope Chanders can keep going for another 3-4 years, because he'd leave a massive hole if he went.

Scarcely believable. Most pleased to see Jerome Taylor returning to form. Now that he's not expected to lead the attack, he seems a lot more comfortable. That West Indies second innings is a clear statement as to why confidence should be reserved though.

Well done to the West Indies, but as I mentioned earlier, there are so many changes that need to be made to the South African side.

Also, West Indies - statistically the worst side in history? Aside from Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Gayle - 38.42
Ganga - 26.51
Morton - 23.27
Samuels - 29.24
Chanderpaul - 46.75
Bravo - 33.16 & 40.78
Ramdin - 22.74
Sammy - 16.75 & 14.77
Taylor - 10.26 & 36.60
Powell - 6.55 & 42.46
Edwards - 4.00 & 42.53

With the exception of Chanderpaul and Gayle (Sammy has only played a couple of Tests), they are absolutely pathetic stats-wise.

NZ 1956:

Taylor 31.8
*J Reid 31.25 & 37.44

40 less runs with bat, slightly better bowling average (about 4 per wicket, for roughly 40 runs)
