Well with the rain coming it looks like another draw could be coming in this test!!.. and that would suit us fine, we've had it all our own way in the main since the series started so it was only a matter of time before SL had a good spell, Sanga had a great knock but we haven't helped outselves with some of the poor bowling and dropped catches, Shilly looks all over the place, i guess getting reported has really effected him and unless he pulls some rabits out of the hat i'd probably leave him out for the next test to be honest and play Pascal.

All in all the lads faught back well i thought after lunch, and we've still kept up the habit of taking out their top four or five for under 250 runs, which is not easy to do at all.
True. WI have done well. Sammy seems to be a weak link though. I hope that he can pull up his game now that he has become captain and lead by example as an allrounder.

Looks like he's lost some confidence has Shilly.

Once guys like Sarwan, Brathwaite and Russell either establish themselves (back) in the side, I'd really begin to question the position of Dwayne Bravo. He's really not doing much at all for me. I think within the next two years there shouldn't be a place in the team for him unless he drastically improves

When Taylor and Edwards return early next year there's gonna be some serious issues for the selectors to sort out!!..because there will be a riot if they are left out just because Sammy is the "captain" , it's either Dwayne Bravo or Sammy, not both imo.

By the way it seems that you are from the WI. How do you see the future of cricket in WI???

Sammy bowling far better than Bravo atm. Tightening up an end quite nicely

Nice to see you mention Brathwaite GS!!..the boy got 130 against Pak-A the other day and at age 17 his fist class average is already 37!! , i've got big hopes for Barath, Darren Bravo, Chesney Hughes etc but for me Kraigg will be the best of the lot and i think he'll be in the test side next year, also believe Shannon Gabriel will be pushing hard too!!..that boy is faster than Roach imo and is more of a swing bowler!!.. he's electric when he gets going man!!, plus Jason Holder is developing nicely,

But yes Dwayne hasn't done himself justice in this series!!.. but he's still been better than Sammy imo even though Sammy has done ok in this test, it's really gonna be interesting to see what the selectors do when our bowlers are back fit, like i said in my last post Taylor and Edwards should be back when we play India at home early next year so they are gonna have some big decisions to make.

Yeah been hearing some good things about Brathwaite. I don't want him to get rushed too quickly into the test set up though. West Indies batting is fairly decent at the moment so I'd rather a future star develop at FC level first. The batting is almost at a point where no desperate measures need to be taken, hoping that a new player suddenly clicks at the top level. I did notice that Chesney Hughes already averages a decent 41 too.

There will be some interesting decisions for sure.

The batting 'squad' if you will can have contenders like

Gayle
Barath
Bravo Junior
Sarwan
Brathwaite
Chanderpaul
Nash
Bravo Senior

Bowling

Roach
Sammy
Russell
Shilly
Benn
Taylor
Edward

Some tough decisions for sure. I've only really concluded players that are definitely around the test set up

I'd include Bishoo on the bowlers list as he already has a contract with the WICB and has been sensational for the A-team and Guyana this year, there's even a fair chance he'll be playing in the one day series against SL after these tests, i have a feeling he'll be better than Shilly and Benn once he gets his feet under the table to be honest, the boy is a magician when he gets going,

Also Gabriel has been working closely with Gibson for the last few months!!, i think they are waiting to see how he gets on in the current A-team games against Pak and also the next four day competition before they throw him in, everyone is buzzing about him though!!..and it's been that way since he made his debut for Trinidad earlier this year.

Well the game has been called off due to rain now!!.. and that's good for us, obviously we'd love to win this series but a draw would be very decent indeed and the pressure is all on SL as they are the ones at home.

The Windies A unofficial test starts today doesn't it?

The second one starts today yes!!.. the first one started last week, rain hit it a lot though which is why it ended in a draw but there was still time for Brathwaite to get his 130, the bowlers like Gabriel, Holder etc didn't get much of a chance to bowl so i'm hoping if we win the toss we'll send them in first.

Rain ruins a whole session again....
:@
But yes, Brathwaite hit a timely ton against the Pakistani A team earlier, and hopefully he'll keep that up in the second. He's unlikely to be called into the WI side for this current tour of Sri Lanka, so the next thing on his mind should be India's visit to the Caribbean. He should be playing for Barbados in the domestic four-day competition first, so let's see if he can keep up his good form in that tournament.

South Africa's middle order is terrific. I think India's batting order is superior to SL's and SA's only because of the openers. Otherwise there is nothing to choose between the three middle-orders alone.

India and then South Africa. Would say Aus and England’s middle order is better than Sri Lanka as well.

Serious? People are under-rating SL because 1. they never play outside the subcontinent, and 2. they don't have much openers.

Point 2 has no relevance but point 1 does. Their wicket keeper is a walking wicket with the bat when not at home or facing Bangladesh, Samaraweera has played 60 odd tests yet never scored or played a substantial amount of games in Aus, England and South Africa (never played a test there) and averages under 30 against Aus, England and South, home or away. Mahela averages under 35 in 20 test matches played in Aus, England, NZ and SA while Matthews has played 9 test matches out of 11 at home.
