*Official* West Indies in South Africa 2022/23

I don't know, our batting didn't really fire in 2021/22 when we beat them at home.
Don't get me wrong I don't want India to win , but India have been threatening to break their duck here the past couple of series , it hasn't been utter domination like when we go to India and get klapped, and Sri Lanka have proved you can come to SA and win , add to that the lack of test matches for preparation..its not ideal hey..

SA has never really dominated at home, and that is partly because of the variation and nature of the pitches. It depends on where the match is played against which opposition. The SL win was, lets be honest, a one off all time great innings... in a two match series. None of this surprises in SA conditions, it is very difficult to dominate because one great spell or one great knock can change a match; when largely games of 250-350+ first inning scores are the norm. Only SA batsmen to have dominated SA conditions consistently (since readmission) is Kallis.

None of this changes your assessment that SA batting is weak and we are vulnerable to losing Test matches at home. But this has been true for the last 3/4 years however the current SA team selection is the first time we are trying to rectify that, its still going to take another few years (at least) to totally sort it out and figure out which players are going to stand up. And its not going to happen in just a few series.

Finally! Hallelujah but it's game on now , we can't collapse like we did in the second innings of the first test..Motie and Holder showed a lot of these middle order batsmen how to play cricket.

Looks like Rabada has some injury, hasn't bowled all session ..We are in a bit of trouble here ..
He left the field straight after the last spell he bowled. That isn't necessarily a sign of anything, but given that was the previous session and you'd have thought Bavuma would have turned to him to try to break the final partnership, it is a concern.

Holder saying there’s not much in it for the spinners which is reassuring for South Africa as they selected two of them and Rabada may be struggling. Need to bat well tomorrow.

Bookies have windies $10.50 to win this. Reckon there's good money there if rabada's not gonna be able to bowl much in the fourth dig given what holder said about the spinners.

I still feel for West Indies to win their best batsmen have to come to the party . Kraigg Brathwaite has really been disappointing
